Shelter Workers Are Devastated When They See The Dog That No One Wants Playing Alone

Shelter workers know how much their sweet dogs want a loving home and a family that loves them unconditionally.

It is the biggest dream of every dog in the shelter, and they only become truly happy when that dream comes true.

To help more shelter dogs find new homes, the Metro East Humane Society hosts an adoption event each year on Black Friday.

The shelter’s sponsors then pay the adoption fees.

This year’s adoption event was the most successful yet.

Staff at the shelter were overjoyed when 94 animals, including 64 dogs, found loving families.

While all those shelter animals cuddled and kissed with their new parents, there was one pup left all alone.

That was Frito, one of the shelter’s sweethearts.

In the midst of all the joy, Frito was all alone.

Despite being a beautiful and sweet girl, she was overlooked.

Ali Hillard, the project manager, said, “We all know how special Frito is, so to see so many people pass her by was disappointing.”

Back to the asylum
Frito returned to the shelter in Madison County, Illinois.

When she entered, the once lively shelter was completely silent.

Frito looked at her friends with sadness in her eyes.

The shelter staff, realizing Frito’s disappointment, comforted her.

They held her beautiful head, hugged her, whispered goodnight and assured her that everything would be fine.

The next day, Frito surprised everyone with her resilience.

Even though she had no one to play with, she ran through the garden and played with her “imaginary friends.

Shelter staff shared in a TikTok video: “She looked as happy as ever while running around with her stuffed animals in her mouth.”

Despite the setback, the shelter staff remains hopeful for Frito.

They believe Frito, with her sweet and playful nature, will soon meet her new parents.

Hillard said, “Frito really isn’t a picky girl. Her ideal forever home would be any home looking for a dog that is a healthy mix of both sweet and cuddly, but also super silly and playful.”

To a foster home
Staff at the shelter shared on their TikTok that Frito has moved to a foster home and is having a great time there.

She is happy to finally experience the warmth and comfort of a home.

Like her shelter friends in Madison County, our fingers are crossed that Frito finds a forever home as soon as possible.

This sweet pup deserves to be loved and pampered.
