After 10 Long Months Apart, A Wolf-Dog Finally Reunites With His Loving Dad
Indus is a stunning Husky/Malamute/Timber Wolf mix breed dog from Northwood, New Hampshire, USA.
In 2018, a two-year-old Indus lived with his mom, Morgan, while his dad was away for army basic training.
Military deployment is difficult for everyone in the family, especially for pets that don’t understand why their loved ones have left them, nor if they will come back.
Devin Ekstrom, from Northwood, New Hampshire, left for U.S. Army Basic training on October 15, 2017.
His whole family, including his beloved dog, didn’t see him for 10 whole months. So, when Devin managed to come home for the Christmas holidays, everyone was delighted, but especially Indus.
He had no idea that his dad would be coming home that day, so the surprise was even bigger for him.
While, for humans, 10 months might not be that long, for Indus, that seemed like an eternity.
Thankfully, Devin’s partner, Morgan, made sure to film the reunion between Devin and Indus. The result will definitely make you shed a tear.
In the video, you can see Indus barking in the beginning at someone whom he thinks is an intruder and a stranger.
Devin was wearing his military uniform and big boots, which must have confused little Indus.
However, as soon as Indus approached his dad and caught a whiff of his scent, everything changed.

In The Pawprints Of Love
“Who is that?,” Morgan asked Indus.
Devin dropped to his knees, and now the two were at the same eye level. At that moment, Indus ran over to his dad and started showering him with kisses.
It was such a beautiful moment. There were lots of kisses, hugs, wiggles, wagging of the tail, and overexcited zoomies.

Indus was so excited to finally have his dad home that he couldn’t contain his happiness. He started running around and coming back to hug his dad.
“Indus’ dad was so happy and blown away by the love he gave him once he realized it was him,” Morgan told Spotlight Stories. “I was crying along with the rest of the family.”

The video quickly became a viral sensation, with more than 17k views on Indus’ official Instagram profile.
One person commented, “This made me smile and warmed my heart ❤️ such a beautiful moment! Thank you for sharing and for your service to our country!”
